Century in the Making Action Team continues to make headway in determining the greatest moments in North Texas football

The Host Committee’s esteemed Century In The Making media gang sat down over burgers Tuesday and chewed the fat over the 100 Most Significant Moments in the History of North Texas Football.
The burgers were graciously supplied at Hully & Mo’s sports establishment in the Dallas Quadrangle. The fat, or at least the discussions, came from Century Committee Chairman Brad Sham and his action committee team members of some 20 active and retired media sorts.
There’ll be a final meeting of the committee in November, by which time members will have whittled a massive list of remarkable football accomplishments down to 250.
The current list is down — that’s right, down — to around 350 professional, college and high school moments involving teams in the four counties (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant) hosting Super Bowl XLV.
Once that ballot list of 250 moments is finalized, the football fans take over. Voting for the top 100 will begin with a kick-off party in the Fort Worth Stockyards in mid-January. And voting will end during the State Fair of Texas that fall.
The list will be announced around the time of Super Bowl XLV in February 2011.
For most of 2010, voters will be able to make their selections on printed ballots at various locales throughout North Texas. Also, a website will be built for the specific purpose of allowing fans to cast their votes online.
So sharpen those lead pencils and those steely brains. Once the committee carves out a list of 250, football fans will determine one of the great Top 100 lists of all time.
