Local staffing agency helps the Host Committee manage its work load

One never knows how or when North Texas’ first-ever Super Bowl will reach out and involve yet another unsuspecting individual. Or company.
Susan Lane had moved back to Dallas from South Florida in July 2008 and needed a job. She had used the High Profile staffing agency in 2002, liked them and returned to them.
“I used to be in the staffing industry many years ago,” Lane explains. “And so I was very particular about whom I worked with. I shopped around a lot of different places, and High Profile is the only staffing group that I’ve worked with that is at the level of professionalism that I want.”
High Profile set Lane up for a contract assignment with Bill Lively when he was running the day-to-day operations as President & CEO for the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. Lively became President & CEO of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee and needed more help, he brought Lane aboard as his Special Assistant.
Now, not only is Lane on the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee staff thanks to High Profile, the agency itself has offered to help out however it can. Created in 1987, the North Dallas company has found jobs for literally thousands of employees, including administrative, human resources, finance, contract and direct hire.
“We’ve worked with many of our clients in the North Texas area for decades,” says Bronwyn Allen, High Profile’s President. “The people that we’ve placed in many cases have been our candidates at first, then have become our clients, and now call us for their staffing needs within their corporations. All of those long-term relationships are pretty neat and really help us tremendously.”
Almost two years ago, High Profile also created a Good Works Program, which encourages clients to give back to local charities. High Profile, in turn, donates a percentage of its sales to the charities hand-picked by its clients.
“It’s a long-term commitment,” Allen says. “So eventually, we will have given hundreds of thousands to charities. During tough times and a tough economy, we think it’s unusual for a company to give back to their clients. And we’re very proud of the response that we’ve got.”
And now, High Profile is also contributing to North Texas’ first Super Bowl.
“We’re very, very excited,” Allen says. “We’ve talked to people at the Host Committee about wanting to get involved in some volunteering work, too. We’re hoping with all of our contractors, who work all over North Texas, that maybe we can engage them in some kind of volunteer efforts for the Super Bowl.
“We already enjoy some really nice tie-ins with the Host Committee. We worked with Roger Staubach for years when he had The Staubach Company.”
High Profile has also worked with Jones Lang LaSalle, Hillwood Development, Boone Pickens, and Fluor — who happen to be among the $1 Million Founding Sponsors confirmed by the Host Committee. “We are thrilled to help support them with this Super Bowl effort,” Allen says.
Lane has been on her own magical Super Bowl ride. She had spent the last four and a half years in healthcare, corporate communications, and marketing. Although she’s a huge sports fan, the Super Bowl is something she watched on television like most fans.
Asked how it feels to get involved so heavily, Lane laughs and says, “It is exhausting. I guess people assume this is glamorous, and I don’t think they realize the work that goes into all the behind-the-scenes stuff that has to happen.”
“This next year, there’s going to be so much going on, I think it’s just going to go by in a whirlwind. The kick-off is going to start with the Concert Series on March 6, in just three months. It’s exciting. It will be here before we know it.”
And Susan Lane will be right there for it all. Thanks to the uncanny placement of High Profile.
