How do I get involved with SLANT 45?
Thank you for expressing interest in working with Service Learning Adventures in North Texas, or SLANT 45! The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee has partnered with Big Thought to ensure that this program involves and benefits North Texas’ youngest citizens. SLANT 45 is an historic youth education program that offers profound challenges and rewards to its young participants. We need individuals like YOU to help make this program a success.
SLANT 45 was named after an actual football play used by Dallas Cowboys legends Daryl Johnston and Emmitt Smith. YOU can be a part of SLANT 45 by helping encourage the young people in your life to get involved, YOU can be a coach for SLANT 45! It’s simple. Do you have a child? A niece or nephew? A friend, student or even a cousin that’s elementary aged? Encourage them to form a team. With you as the team coach, they’ll brainstorm about a community service project that they want to do — it can be a lemonade stand to raise money for a local charity, a car wash to benefit a not-for-profit or anything they dream up. Then, it’s time to register online. Registration will not launch until early 2010, but you can still sign up on the SLANT 45 web site at www.slant45.org for information today. Select “get involved” from the SLANT 45 home page and complete your information to sign up to receive the SLANT 45 e-newsletter and be among the first to know when it’s time to register your team.
Thanks again for your interest in SLANT 45!
