Super Bowl XLV Events

How do I get my event included on the Host Committee’s online calendar?
If you are hosting an event in the days and weeks leading up to Super Bowl XLV, you can apply to have it listed on the North Texas Host Committee’s Web site. The NFL and Host Committee have final approval of events that will be posted. You can submit your request to Rachel Tice at rtice@northtexassuperbowl.com or 214-252-5119.

My venue would be perfect for a Super Bowl party.
How can I get my information to event planners?
The Host Committee maintains a database of event venues throughout the region. Venues from the database are suggested to party planners who contact the Committee based on their needs. Inclusion in the database does not guarantee an event booking. To add your venue to the list, please contact Rachel Tice at rtice@northtexassuperbowl.com or 214-252-5119 for the venue information form.

Can I show the Super Bowl at my event?

The NFL owns the copyright to all game broadcasts including the Super Bowl. Showing the game at an event, no matter the cost of admission, violates the League’s game viewing policy. As a general rule, the NFL does not allow the game to be shown on any piece of technology that is not normally used to view network television (i.e. movie theaters, projectors, etc. are not permitted). Small, private viewings are allowed through the NFL’s home-style exception, meaning that the game can be shown free of charge at small, social gatherings “on an apparatus that is normally used to broadcast regular network television in private homes.” There is no way for an event planner, even when affiliated with a sponsor, to purchase the rights to show the game.

Emerging Business Program

What is the Emerging Business Program?
It is the goal of the NFL that minority and women-owned businesses have the maximum opportunity to participate in the Super Bowl procurement process. The NFL Emerging Business Program is designed to provide local minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) access to these procurement opportunities. While participating in the Program does not guarantee receipt of Super Bowl XLV-related contracts, it is the intention of the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee that interested MWBEs receive information on this process and an introduction to potential purchasing entities. For more information and updates on the Program, visit www.northtexassuperbowl.com/emergingbusiness.

This over-the-top food and wine extravaganza brings together the country’s top chefs as well as current and alumni NFL players to represent each NFL city. Super Bowl XLV will mark the Taste of the NFL’s 20th year raising money and awareness for hunger relief. All net proceeds are contributed to food banks in the surrounding region. Taste’s goal is to raise $1 million in net revenue to be allocated to North Texas food pantries and to food banks in all 32 NFL cities. A portion of the proceeds from the Kick-Off Concert Series will support the 20th Anniversary of Taste of the NFL.

How do I buy tickets to Taste of the NFL?

Free autograph sessions and the largest football card show also are featured.

YET (Youth Education Town)

The NFL will donate $1 million to the YET. The NFL YET Program was established in 1993 to provide activities for children in underserved communities. The "towns" are youth centers constructed in Super Bowl cities, bestowing a legacy from the game after the fans depart.

YET will be a safe-haven for children before and after school and on weekends, providing tutoring, computer training, sports and recreation activities and events of all kinds. The YET will be managed either by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America or the Salvation Army. The Kick-Off Concert Series will support this important initiative that will be among one of the most important legacies of the region’s first-ever Super Bowl. The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee must raise $1 million to be matched by a like amount from the NFL to construct and endow the operation of the YET, which will be constructed in a challenged neighborhood in the region.

Who is the typical Super Bowl attendee and what is the typical length of stay?

The average Super Bowl attendee spends four nights in a hotel. Of the attendees, 80% are from another state, 70 – 90% arrive by plane, and the average fan spends $1,500 - 2,000 during his/her stay.

Fan Housing
A fan housing program will be established to provide hotel accommodations to individuals and groups coming to the North Texas area for Super Bowl XLV. This centralized reservation system will offer both on-line and toll-free booking, and visitors will have access to a wide range of hotel accommodations throughout the region. If you have any inquires for individual and or group rooms please refer them to the Web site and keep checking back for updates.

Home Rentals
Due to the number of hotels in the North Texas market, there are more than enough rooms to accommodate visitors. The North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee does not play a role in assisting home owners to rent their properties.

I would like to rent my home out during Super Bowl week. How can I do this?
There are over 90,000 hotel rooms in the North Texas area. We have over 24,000 of those under contract for the NFL and their related groups. The market for rental properties for the Super Bowl is more focused on special event facilities. When the game comes to a market the size of North Texas that has an abundance of hotel rooms, rental properties are very rarely used for overnight accommodations. When they are booked, it is usually for a dinner or special event and usually in extremely large homes with grounds, etc. If your property is able to host an event of that magnitude, we can send you a venue reservation agreement.

My company is a third party housing provider (corporate housing) and we would like to be involved with Super Bowl XLV. How can we help?
The NFL has a fan housing service they use and bring to each host city. We the Host Committee will work with that group to implement and market their program. The NFL block of rooms we secured in the bid is under the management of the NFL directly.

Host Committee Booth
The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee plans to reach out to and include all communities throughout North Texas by creating a wave of awareness and excitement for Super Bowl XLV. To make this possible, a Host Committee Booth is available to provide presence at community and sporting events throughout the North Texas region. The goal is to build awareness of Committee programs, including volunteer recruitment, Century in the Making voting, and SLANT 45. Please email Courtney Counts at ccounts@northtexassuperbowl.com for more information.
