FAQs

What is the Emerging Business Program?
It is the goal of the NFL that minority- and women-owned businesses have the maximum opportunity to participate in the Super Bowl procurement process. The NFL Emerging Business Program is designed to provide local minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) access to these procurement opportunities. While participating in the program does not guarantee receipt of Super Bowl XLV-related contracts, it is the intention of the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee that interested MWBE’s receive information on this process and an introduction to potential purchasing entities. For more information and updates, visit www.northtexassuperbowl.com/emergingbusiness.

How do I participate in the Emerging Business Program?
Participation in the Emerging Business program requires completion of an on-line registration, available at www.northtexassuperbowl.com/emergingbusiness. Prospective vendors must complete the online application and submit proof of certification as a minority- or woman-owned business. Upon receipt of this information, qualified businesses will be approved for the official Super Bowl XLV Business Resource Guide, now available.

What is the Business Resource Guide?

The Business Resource Guide is a comprehensive guide of certified North Texas emerging businesses. The guide is free and available to all procurement entities seeking goods or services for Super Bowl XLV related opportunities. How do I get my business listed in the Emerging Business Resource Guide?

What is a certified business?
A minority- or woman-owned business whose status as an MWBE has been verified by an independent agency authorized by the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee, is considered to be a certified business.

How do I become a certified business?
Vendors must be certified with an approved certifying agency of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee’s Emerging Business Program. To view a list of approved certifying agencies, visit www.northtexassuperbowl.com/emergingbusiness.

Can I be in the process of becoming certified as a minority- or woman-owned business, or do I need to currently be certified?
You many complete a registration for the Business Resource Guide while your certification is in process, however, only certified businesses will be listed in the Business Resource Guide. To indicate a pending certification, simply select the certification agency that you are seeking your certification with and select the pending option.  After you receive your new certification, you are encouraged to update your certification status in your business registration profile.

If we responded “pending” to the certification question in the online registration, how do we notify you that our certificate is complete or approved?
Once your certificate is approved, you can log in to your registration profile and change your certification status. You will be prompted to upload your certificate image, or you can fax a copy of your certificate to (214) 224-0149.

If I am not certified, what is the fastest and easiest way to get this done?
Contact one of the 4 acknowledged certifying agencies. Information for the certifying agencies can be found at www.northtexassuperbowl.com/emergingbusiness Click on the link for certifying agencies.

If I have more than one business, can they both be listed?
Yes. Both businesses can be listed in the Business Resource Guide. However, both businesses must complete a separate registration.

What is the deadline to submit all qualifications in order to be considered for procurement opportunities?
The last day to complete a business registration form to participate in the Emerging Business Program will be in March 31, 2010. The deadline to submit your certification will be May 31, 2010.
