On Oct. 27, 2002, Emmitt Smith gained 11 yards to replace Walter Payton (16,726 yards) as the NFL’s all-time leading rusher. Smith finished a 17-14 loss to Seattle with 16,743 yards. He remains No. 1 with 18,355 yards.
